Hard Start

Why don't manufacturers provide hard starts at install?

They used to, and then they pulled them to cut costs.

I never had to install a hard start when I lived in ____ . Why here?

The compressor is the most significant component in your HVAC system. It is the first part that starts in the whole system. 

Because of our climate, the compressor turns on many more times than in other regions of our country. 

Your compressor simply needs more support to avoid damage from overuse.
