This is one of the most common questions we are asked. My response is that it usually depends on the length of your warranty. Further, usually a customer decides to purchase a new system when a large expense has been incurred and the homeowner decides to put that large expense towards a new system instead of the older system. This all depends on the warranties that came with the system. A large expense is inevitable, it just depends on whether you have a warranty to cover all or part of the expense.

You may have only a Parts warranty or no warranty.Â
In the future, ensure you purchase a 10 year Parts and Labor Warranty for your next system.
Why is ____ not covered under my warranty?
Your warranties cover any failures/defects on the components of your AC system that were installed.
Items not covered include drain line, ductwork, insulation, and anything you add on to the system such as hard start, refrigerant, surge protection.
Do I need to get maintenances?
In order for your warranty to remain valid, you must get at least one maintenance per year.
Can't I just do my own maintenance?
If you open up your inside or outside unit, your warranty will be voided. More importantly, you could get a bad electrical shock or even die.
